Wolves 1 Hull 1: Tigers claw out point - Doyle denied by desperate defending

[LNB]Wolves boss Mick McCarthy possesses a record that is as mystifying as it is cruel - he has never won a home match in the top flight. [LNB]It stretches back to a 19-game run with former club Sunderland and is now extended to two matches with his newly-promoted side. [LNB]When Geovanni gave Hull the lead after two minutes at Molineux, there appeared to be no chance of McCarthy being able to erase the embarrassment of it all. [LNB]But there was hope when Richard Stearman stabbed home the equaliser in the first attack after the interval though, by the end, McCarthy and Hull boss Phil Brown were happy to share the points. [LNB]This was more Championship than Premier League, but was none the worse for that. [LNB]If the entertainment lacked a certain finesse then it made up for a lack of top-flight quality with blood-and-sweat effort. Because Wolves were looking for their first Premier League victory at Molineux made them a tad over keen and too rushed when a more considered approach could against this battle-hardened Hull team. [LNB]It was the visitors who took the lead in the second minute. The chance was created by their fiery Irishman, Stephen Hunt, who launched himself down the left, cut in and sent over a cross which dropped perfectly for Geovanni.[LNB] [LNB] Heading home: Geovanni Gomez sises to head home Hull's goal[LNB]It was calamitous for the Wolves defence to leave him virtually unmarked and centre of goal. With goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey stranded by the cross, Geovanni directed the ball over with an effortless header.[LNB] That was the start Wolves must have dreaded and it certainly confirmed how difficult life at the top can be for a newly relegated club - even against a team which only just managed to survive last season. [LNB]So much is expected of Wolves' Irish front line of Keogh and Kevin Doyle - making his debut in the Premier League for his new club - but it is a partnership that will need time and patience to develop. [LNB]There were occasions here when a little more understanding between the too might have earned them a goal. And so it was left to Stearman to delight his boss.[LNB] Give us a hand: Kamil Zayatte (right) drifts past Wolves' Nenad Milijas (centre) and Matthew Jarvis (left) [LNB] [LNB] [LNB] [LNB] [LNB] [LNB]Wolves(4-4-2): Hennessey; Stearman, Craddock, Mancienne, Elokobi; Halford, Milijas, Henry, Jarvis; Keogh (Vokes 89min), Doyle.  Subs (not used): Edwards, Surman, Hahnemann, Jones, Berra, Zubar.[LNB]Hull (4-5-1): Myhill; Zayatte, Mouyokolo, Turner, Dawson; Ghilas (Fagan 73), Olofinjana, Geovanni (Barmby 82), Kilbane, Hunt; Folan (Altidore 63).  Subs (not used): Halmosi, Boateng, Warner, Cooper.
