Coaching role: Windass will assist his ex-gaffer Todd[LNB]Hull City striker Dean Windass has agreed to join League Two side Darlington as assistant manager. [LNB]A year after scoring the goal which took the Tigers in to the Barclays Premier League, the 40-year-old frontman is moving on from the KC Stadium after an unhappy final season with his home-town club. [LNB]Windass is teaming up with his former Bradford City boss Colin Todd, who agreed to join the Quakers last month, and he is expected to officially take a player-coaching role when Todd returns from a break later this month. [LNB]The veteran, whose Wembley winner sealed Hull's play-off final victory over Bristol City last year, struggled to make his way into manager Phil Brown's plans in the top flight and he last played for Hull in the Boxing Day defeat at Manchester City. [LNB]He was substituted at half-time following Brown's infamous teamtalk on the pitch. [LNB]A loan spell with Oldham Athletic was cut short after Windass failed to make an impact in John Sheridan's young side. [LNB]He returned to Hull and scored for the reserves but was eventually kicked out of the club by Brown in the last month of the season. [LNB]Windass will be out of contract next month and as well as an offer from Gillingham, he has been linked with the vacant manager's job at Chesterfield.  [LNB] Former Bolton boss Todd to take charge at League Two side DarlingtonFinal blow for Windass as Brown bans him from Hull for rest of the seasonTHE LIST: The top 50 best things about the Premier League season 2008/09Please release me!
