Turner targets survival
Hull City defender Michael Turner believes helping his club secure their Premier League status would further reinforce his reputation.
Ahead of the final day of the season, the Tigers are involved in a four-way fight with Middlesbrough, Newcastle and Sunderland as the quartet battle to save their top-flight futures.
But Turner - who is believed to have impressed England boss Fabio Capello - is confident Hull will record the win they require against champions Manchester United on Sunday to gain survival.
The centre-back is rumoured to be on the radar of Aston Villa, Fulham and Tottenham, and he feels he has proved his critics wrong following a string of eye-catching displays this season.
"A few people raised their eyebrows as to whether I could perform at this level," he said in the Daily Star.
"I'd like to think that I've progressed gradually throughout the season. All I have tried to do is be a consistent performer every week.
"To make this year even more special it's vital that we now retain our Premier League status.
"Hopefully by the end of the weekend we'll have done that. We're pretty confident we can achieve that because our fate is in our hands."
