Hull City manager Phil Brown believes that defender Michael Turner is close to a call-up to the England squad.[LNB] The 25-year-old, signed from Brentford for £350,000 in July 2006, has been an ever-present for the Tigers in the Premier League this season.[LNB]England boss Fabio Capello was present for the club's draw at Chelsea where Brown believes he was not just looking at the home side.[LNB]The Tigers boss spoke with England physio Gary Lewin a few days after the game and he admitted that two Hull City players had been in the Italian's thoughts for the Spain friendly.[LNB]Performance"I had a casual conversation with the England physio at a dinner last Thursday and he said Fabio Capello was interested in Jimmy Bullard and Michael.[LNB]"It was a conversation to gauge if the players were fit enough to play against Spain. Fabio Capello was at the game on Saturday and as far as Michael was concerned, he gave a performance worthy of interest.[LNB]"We got a phone call from Gary Lewin on Saturday evening to say that Michael would not be required, but just to be in the thoughts of the England set-up is massively encouraging.[LNB]"Fingers crossed Michael will continue to show the form he has done all season."[LNB]
