Grimsby Town youngster Jack Barlow has been signed by Premier League side Hull City. The 14-year-old striker spent a week on trial at Manchester City and Manchester United at the end of last season, and Mariners chairman John Fenty says it is a good deal for the club. "It's an interesting one really," he told Grimsby's official website. "Clearly Phil Brown is interested in the long term. He personally contacted me to ask about Jack. "We then spoke chairman to chairman. When all is said and done they have the ability to get Jack. "Our view is what was on the table was far, far better than if they'd just taken Jack and then it would have ended up at a tribunal."
