Tigers slam troublemakers

Hull have condemned the behaviour of a group of their fans following trouble in York city centre prior to Saturday's pre-season friendly. A dozen police vans were called to St Helens Square where about 40 to 50 Hull supporters had gathered in Lendal Cellars on Saturday morning. Surrounding shops were closed and three men were arrested after a mini riot, while the rest of the group were escorted by police back to Hull on the train. A spokesman for Hull said: "We condemn any acts of violence and any trouble caused and will not tolerate this at the club. "We are awaiting a full police report and will be guided by them in any future action which needs to be taken. "The vast majority of Hull City fans are loyal, passionate and well behaved and we will not allow their image to be tarnished."
