Hull new-boys Seyi Olofinjana and Jozy Altidore believe they can help the club establish a permanent presence in the Barclays Premier League. Nigeria midfielder Olofinjana, who arrives in a £3million deal from Stoke, and USA striker Altidore, on a season-long loan from Spanish side Villarreal, became the club's first signings of the summer. Olofinjana, 29, who has signed a four-year contract, said: "As a football player you always set targets and want to improve. I'm coming here not just to add to the numbers but to play my part in taking this club to the next level. What happened last season happened but I'm sure the club have learned from that." Altidore is highly regarded in the US and impressed in his country's recent run to the final of the Confederations Cup. His deal, which is subject to a work permit hearing on Monday, includes an option to buy next summer should Hull be interested signing the player permanently. Altidore said: "I hope to help Hull progress. It's an up-and-coming club and for myself it's going to a great experience. I've been lucky enough to play in Spain and now the Premier League, two of the best leagues in the world. Hopefully I can help the team in any way they need. I'm a huge follower of the Premier League. Most people think it is the best league and I'm no different."
