Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink believes Hull can now look forward with confidence after ending their run of defeats. The Dutchman scored his first goal for the club as the Tigers secured their first win in six weeks with a 2-1 victory over Wigan on Saturday. The result broke a sequence of four successive losses in all competitions that had seen City concede 15 goals. Former Celtic striker Vennegoor of Hesselink said: "It is always nice to score, of course, but I think the most important thing is the three points. "The team performed really well and we can build from this with some really important games coming up in October. It is good for morale." Hull are not in action again until they travel to Fulham on October 19 but then have important games against Portsmouth and Burnley before the end of the month.
