Hull City are closing in on a new defender agreeing a deal to sign Newcastle defender Habib Beye. The Magpies stopper was expected to leave St James' Park this summer following their relegation to the Championship. Hull, who signed Seyi Olofinjana and Jozy Altidore on Thursday, have now reached an accord for the French-born Senegal international. Chairman Paul Duffen is now looking forward to thrashing out terms with the 31-year-old, who he believes will add quality to Phil Brown's squad. "Habib Beye is a player we believe can add quality to the Hull squad," confirmed Duffen. "We are hoping to engage in conversation with him in the next couple of days."
