Sbragia: Cats still have work to do

Ricky Sbragia is well aware his Sunderland side are still in a relegation scrap despite beating fellow strugglers Hull last weekend. The Black Cats climbed to 15th in the Premier League after a crucial 1-0 win at the Stadium of Light. It took them four points clear of the relegation zone and they go to West Brom on Saturday hoping to clinch a win that would virtually secure their place in the top flight. But Sbragia insists no-one is taking their place in the Premier League for granted. He said: "West Brom might be bottom of the league but on their day they're a good side. I watched them against Manchester City last weekend, they played some good football."They play a system that their manager believes in and they can play it really well, it will be a hard game for us."We have to go there with the same determination that we have shown in our last two games. I said before the Manchester United game that we had seven cup finals - this is the third one now."Last Saturday was a big boost but we know we're still in the fight. A bad result and we could slide back down towards the bottom three."We're not safe, we know that, and we have to kick on. I hope we don't get carried away with things."Sbragia has reiterated the need for points over performances at this stage of the season."It's a tense affair," he said. "All the teams seem to be able to take points off each other, and that includes West Brom."For us it's a case of taking what has been good from the last two games into Saturday's match. There's still a lot at stake."We put in a solid performance against Hull last Saturday. It wasn't pretty, but the points were more important than the performance. We gave our all and worked extremely hard. We had to defend well and I was pleased with a clean sheet."But we have to take that mentality into the West Brom game and hopefully we can take something from the game."[LNB]
