Walsall manager Chris Hutchings has bolstered his goalkeeping options after signing Hull City's Mark Oxley on a month's loan. The Saddlers boss has moved for the youngster with first-choice shot-stopper Rene Gilmartin sidelined for a month with a hamstring injury. The 19-year-old moved to The KC Stadium from Rotherham United in a £150,000 deal at the start of last season, but is yet to appear under Phil Brown. Clayton Ince is likely to fill in for Gilmartin between the sticks against Colchester with Hutchings confirming Oxley is on the bench against the high-flying Us. Real quality"He is a young, emerging lad of real quality and potential," Hutchings told the club's official website. "We have worked hard to be able to bring him in and he will gain plenty of valuable experience during his time here. "He will be travelling and training with us today and be on the bench for Saturday's game at Colchester United. "It's unfortunate for Rene but these things happen in football. He's been playing well and growing in confidence and I have been pleased with the progress he has made this season."
