Relief for Brown as Hull grab late 2-1 win over Stoke

An injury-time goal by Jan Venegoor of Hesselink gave Hull City a 2-1 home win over Stoke City on Sunday and eased the pressure on manager Phil Brown.[LNB] Matthew Etherington put Stoke ahead in the 29th minute, smashing the ball left-footed after a long pass from Ryan Shawcross.[LNB] Seyi Olofinjana curled in a neat equaliser after 62 minutes and the game looked to be heading for a draw even after Stoke had Abdoulaye Faye sent off with five minutes to go.[LNB] Hull pressed on though and got their reward when Stoke keeper Thomas Sorensen parried a Jimmy Bullard shot straight into the path of Venegoor, who returned it into an empty net.[LNB] It was Hull's third win of the season and moves them out of the relegation zone on 11 points.[LNB] There are three more games on Sunday, highlighted by Chelsea against Manchester United (4:00 p.m. British time)[LNB] (Reporting by Alan Baldwin/Mitch Phillips; Editing by Clare Fallon)
