Reinvented Brown praised by chairman Pearson as Hull fight for their future

Hull City chairman Adam Pearson has given the thumbs-up to the 'new' Phil Brown.[LNB]The Tigers manager, one of the most media-friendly bosses in the Barclays Premier League, has not spoken to the press after Pearson called for the club to 'show more humility' after taking over from Paul Duffen last week.[LNB] Under pressure: Phil Brown is fighting to save his job[LNB]Many believed this was directed at Brown who allowed assistant manager Brian Horton to fulfil media duties after Hull's 2-1 win over Stoke City, only their fourth league win of 2009.[LNB]While it was a last-gasp goal by Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink that secured victory Pearson was suitably impressed.[LNB]Pearson said: 'He seemed to get all the major decisions right - the team selection, the substitutions and match-day preparation. Under such a spotlight that wasn't easy.
