Pearson wants rid of relegation demons

Hull boss Nigel Pearson is determined not to let his players wallow in a hangover from last season. The Tigers appeared to have put relegation from the Barclays Premier League behind them with an encouraging 2-0 opening-day win over Swansea but Saturday's 4-0 thumping at Millwall has left manager Pearson with a real headache. Pearson said: "If there is a hangover from last season, I'm not interested in that. We have to take responsibility for our own actions and that was a poor performance. "Saturday gave an illustration of the work that we have to do. "I've seen both sides of us now and there's a lot of work to be done. But it was the fashion in which we conceded the goals."
