PEARSON TO REJOIN TIGERS ON MONDAY

Hull assistant manager Craig Shakespeare revealed manager Nigel Pearson is expected to return to work on Monday after being taken ill on Friday. Pearson spent Friday night in hospital after complaining of chest pains after training, so Shakespeare took charge of the side for the 3-1 npower Championship defeat at Doncaster on Saturday afternoon. Shakespeare admitted Pearson, who is expected to be discharged on Saturday or Sunday morning, was sorely missed as goals from Martin Woods, Billy Sharp and James Coppinger gave Rovers the bragging rights, with Nick Barmby scoring for the Tigers. Shakespeare said: "It was hard to be without him. Obviously he will be disappointed and as gutted at the result as the rest of us. "We miss him because he is a leader and there is an aura about him. But obviously his health comes first. "I spoke to him on the phone before the match and we are hoping he will be discharged from hospital tonight (Saturday) or in the morning and be back with us in training on Monday."
