The Tigers extended their unbeaten league run to seven matches after Saturday evening's goalless draw at Brighton and climbed back into the top six.
Pearson told the club's official website: "I know Brighton had a chance as well, but generally speaking we played the much better football and created the majority of the chances.
"I don't curse our luck. We hit the woodwork twice and their goalkeeper made a couple of very good saves to keep them in it.
"But like I said, people give Brighton a lot of credit for how they've done this year and it's about time they started giving us a bit more credit."
