Hull manager Nigel Pearson is impressed with how his players have adapted to his scientific approach to pre-season training.[LNB] The former Leicester boss believes sports science plays a key role in the development and well-being of modern-day footballers.[LNB]Pearson told the club's official website: "I think it's essential now because our prized assets are our players and we've got to give them the support they need to maximise their potential.[LNB]"In pre-season it's very clear that we have to get the training levels right and that's not just the technical side, that's the physical loading as well.[LNB]"It's probably a little bit different to what the players are used to, but the important thing of course is that they buy into it as well. It's not a case of us banging the drum and everything falling into place, it works if they have some ownership to it.[LNB]"I'm pleased with their application in the first week. It's been outstanding really and it feels as though we've been here a long time already and I think that's a good sign. We're all enjoying it and the new staff have complimented the existing staff very well. I'm delighted so far."[LNB]
