Pearson hails record run

Manager Nigel Pearson praised his players after Hull's 1-0 win at Coventry extended their unbeaten league away run to 14 matches. The Tigers have won seven and drawn seven of their last 14 games on the road to surpass the previous record set by Raich Carter's squad during the 1948/9 season. Pearson said: "It's always about concentrating on whichever game you've got, but I think it's important to recognise that it's been a big effort to achieve a new record. "Hopefully we can keep it going. Really, I think Saturday was about getting a response after the Burnley game and we managed to pick up three points, which is what it's about this season." Hull's latest win lifted them back to within five points of the top six with nine npower Championship games remaining.
