Hull manager Nigel Pearson admitted it was Groundhog Day after another goalless draw at the KC Stadium on Saturday.[LNB] The home crowd were forced to endure a third stalemate of the campaign against resolute Coventry.[LNB]"It's the same old story to an extent, but I do think we're making progress," said Pearson.[LNB]"To only have 12 points after 10 games is disappointing. It's clear where we need to improve.[LNB]"I'm aware of our shortcomings and we need to work hard to improve them. It's frustrating in some ways, but I'm confident we'll improve.[LNB]"We are not scoring goals or creating enough chances. It's something we'll have to solve.[LNB]"To not concede any goals in our first five games at home is creditable, but clearly we need to have more of a goal threat."[LNB]Pearson handed a debut to Rowan Vine in a bid to improve his side's fortunes in front of goal.[LNB]"Rowan gives us a different dimension. We don't have too many targets to hit," he added.[LNB]"When you consider he's only played three reserve games recently, he contributed really positively to the team today."[LNB]Coventry striker Marlon King failed a fitness test on a dead leg, meaning he avoided a potentially hot reception at the KC Stadium on his first visit to an away ground since his return to the game.[LNB]Boss Aidy Boothroyd said: "I thought we had the better of the first half. We played really well and were the better team.[LNB]"Hull were a Premier League club not long ago, and they have good players and a good manager. They also have a good home record, so we had to be resolute. It is also nice to get back to a clean sheet.[LNB]"For all of the play and the furore in the second half I think we cancelled each other out.[LNB]"We have to look at the big picture. We've taken four points from three games this week.[LNB]"We're getting better and better as a team and I was pleased to get a clean sheet.[LNB]"We ran out of steam a bit at the end and gave the ball away a bit cheaply in the second half, but I knew we'd wilt a bit."
