Pearson eager to bounce back

Hull boss Nigel Pearson is hopeful his side can return to winning ways when they take on Portsmouth at the KC Stadium.[LNB] Pearson watched as his side produced a poor performance on the way to a 1-0 defeat against Sheffield United in midweek and Pearson is glad to have an early opportunity to rectify the problem.[LNB]He told the club's official website: "The way I'm looking at this performance is to see whether we can improve our own performance.[LNB]"Sheffield United came here for a point and got three. That's annoying and we gifted them a goal. With games like that, if you can't win them you make sure you don't lose and that is something we have managed to do at home this season.[LNB]"It will be a tough game and Portsmouth have some good players. They've had one or two good results of late and we'll have to be near our best to beat them.[LNB]"We've got to be more positive. If we get a win it changes the complexion, but we're at the wrong end of the table which isn't what we are looking for."
