Pearson admits play-off chance may be gone

Hull manager Nigel Pearson conceded it was "probably too much" to expect his side to secure a play-off place following their 1-1 draw at champions-elect QPR. The Tigers extended their unbeaten run on the road to an impressive 17 matches after David Amoo cancelled out Wayne Routledge's opener for Rangers. But Hull are now five points shy of the play-offs and look set to miss out on an immediate return to the top flight. Pearson said: "It's probably too much. We have to win our games and need others to slip up. "But we've made great strides this season and it's important we finish on a positive note." City endured a poor start to the season and were in the bottom five after 16 matches, just one point off the foot of the table.
