O'Neill unaware of Young interest

Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill has played down speculation linking Hull with a move for right-back Luke Young. Former England defender Young is currently recovering from the death of his half brother when on holiday last week. And O'Neill insisted he has had no contact with his Tigers counterpart Phil Brown. O'Neill said: "It's news to me. Personally, he has a lot of things to consider at this minute. I would have thought a move would be the last thing on his mind." Young experienced an impressive first season at Villa after a £5million switch from Middlesbrough last summer. But he was dogged by a foot problem during the latter stages of the campaign and then suffered a thigh injury during pre-season. He was moving closer to full fitness before the tragic news regarding his half brother, and will be given as much time as he requires to come to terms with his loss.
