Miller seals friendly win

Lee Miller's strike late in the first half was enough for Aberdeen to claim a 1-0 win over Hull City in Dean Windass' benefit match at the KC Stadium. Hull handed a debut to Seyi Olofinjana and brought trialist Henri Camara off the bench, but could not find a way past Aberdeen goalkeeper Stuart Nelson. Windass, 40, lined up for both teams, starting the first half in a Hull shirt before being replaced by Daniel Cousin, and then appearing for Aberdeen after the break. Roman Pavlyuchenko gave Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp a reminder of his capabilities by scoring one and setting up another in the 3-0 pre-season victory over Olympiacos. With Peter Crouch's arrival, joining Jermain Defoe and Robbie Keane as attacking options, Pavlyuchenko has been seen as the odd man out - but he took full advantage of his second-half appearance at White Hart Lane. After finding the top corner for the first, the Russian crossed for Vedran Corluka to seal the friendly win, with Defoe adding a late third.
