McShane frustrated by Tigers display

Hull defender Paul McShane conceded the Tigers "almost went through the motions" in their midweek home defeat to Sheffield United. McShane was passed fit despite an ankle injury and turned in a man-of-the-match display, but that was of no consolation after Blades winger Mark Yeates scored the game's only goal. The Republic of Ireland international said: "We almost went through the motions in the first half and the second half was pretty much the same thing. We didn't come out of the blocks sharply enough. It was a frustrating night for us." McShane said his injured ankle had not been too much of a hindrance against the Blades, adding: "It was aching a bit and it's still a bit swollen, but I was able to run on it and turn sharply and it didn't cause me any problems."
