Mannone targets first-team spot
Goalkeeper Vito Mannone has made no secret of his intention to win a place in Nigel Pearson starting line-up following his loan from Arsenal.[LNB] Matt Duke is Pearson's current number one and has been an ever-present this season but Mannone, on loan from the Gunners initially until January, wants to take over his mantle.[LNB]The Italian told the club's official website: "I have already been working very hard in training. It isn't easy coming in when the season has started and the other guys are already playing, but I'm trying to show everything I can in training.[LNB]"I'm aiming for a first-team place, I can't lie about that. I'm here to play, to gain first-team experience and Arsenal want that for me as well. But I have to earn it and I'm doing everything I can to play in the team."
