Mannone eyes Hull stay

Vito Mannone is open to extending his loan spell at Hull and has not ruled out a permanent transfer from Arsenal.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper is currently with the Tigers until January and could prolong his stay.

"I don`t know what will happen," Mannone told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"If the club is happy and I`m happy, we`ll sit down and make a decision."

Mannone has made three appearances for Hull, keeping two clean sheets and producing a string of stunning saves, but he revealed that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger once had different plans for his career.

"Wenger wanted me to play outfield," he added.

"Sometimes I even trained outfield to improve my game a little bit, and I did enjoy it.

"I only played one game outfield when I was five. I changed my mind and asked my dad to put me back in goal. From that time I never came out from between the sticks."
