Jozy show pleases Brown

Hull manager Phil Brown was happy to see American striker Jozy Altidore mark his first start for the club with a goal. Altidore was on target as Hull breezed past Southend 3-1 in the Carling Cup on Tuesday night. And Brown was pleased with the performance of Altidore, who missed the opening two games of the season after red tape delayed his return from the US following international duty. Brown said: "The biggest bonus of the night wasn't just the fact some young lads have made their debuts and done well, it was getting 90 minutes out of Jozy Altidore. "He hit the winning goal and he's probably still suffering from jetlag having arrived on Friday. "He played a full competitive game - and it was competitive, Southend were no slouches."
