Johnson avoids futher punishment

Portsmouth right-back Glen Johnson looks set to avoid any further action for his reaction to being sent-off in the draw at Hull last weekend. The England international reacted angrily after receiving a controversial second yellow card for an innocuous-looking challenge on Dean Marney, but it was not mentioned in the referee's report. Johnson will therefore serve a one-match ban, ruling him out of Saturday's Premier League clash with West Brom at Fratton Park. An FA Spokesman told the Daily Star: "We've not had any report through from the referee about how Johnson left the pitch. "It wasn't mentioned. There is nothing that can be done about yellow cards. "There is no situation where a referee can change his mind about a yellow card if he believes it to be wrong afterwards. It doesn't exist. "Likewise, if he doesn't see something he can't do something about it afterwards. All regulations on bookings are put forward by Fifa, and it is their guidelines we follow."
