Hull of a move: Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink[LNB]Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink has revealed he signed for Hull City in a bid to reclaim his place in the Holland side ahead of next year's World Cup in South Africa.[LNB]The Dutch striker, who was available as a free agent after his contract at Celtic expired in the summer, signed a two-year deal with the Tigers on Thursday.[LNB]Now Vennegoor of Hesselink is hoping some eye catching performances in the Barclays Premier League will persuade Dutch boss Bert van Marwijk to recall him to the side for 2010.[LNB]'I want to play at the next World Cup,' said Vennegoor of Hesselink, who has been training at one of his former clubs, Steve McClaren's FC Twente, in recent weeks.[LNB]'If I'm playing club games, that will give me the opportunity to get back into the Dutch squad.[LNB]'Just before the summer, I was in the squad so I hope the national manager will select me when I start playing games again.
