Hull's win at Brentford takes them top of Championship table

Andy Robertson and Sam Clucas struck second half goals to secure Hull a 2-0 win at Brentford and lift them top of the Sky Bet Championship table.

Hull withstood first half pressure and broke the deadlock through Robertson in the 67th minute before Clucas added a second with four minutes left to ensure a fourth league win on the road this season for Steve Bruce's side.

With overnight leaders Brighton held to a goalless draw at in-form Sheffield Wednesday - Carlos Carvalhal's Owls extended their unbeaten run to 11 matches - Hull moved top on goal difference.

Burnley remain in hot pursuit and climbed above Brighton into second place thanks to another Andre Gray double in a 3-1 home win against Fulham.

Gray followed up his two goals at the weekend by heading home an 18th minute opener and struck again in the 37th minute to put Burnley in control.

Ross McCormack reduced Fulham's arrears in the 51st minute, but Matt Taylor made sure for Burnley with a third in time added on.

Stewart Downing struck the only goal in Middlesbrough's 1-0 home win against Rotherham, which keeps his side in fourth place.

Downing fired home in the 16th minute and the home side hit the crossbar soon after through Carlos De Pena's header.

Derby also stayed in touch with the leaders as they won by the same scoreline at home against QPR.

Ola John fired a late equaliser to rescue a point for Reading in a 2-2 home draw against Huddersfield.

Oliver Norwood's 15th minute free-kick cancelled out Jamie Paterson's opener for Huddersfield after just 64 seconds and although Nahki Wells (26) restored the visitors' lead, John struck for Reading in the 84th minute.
