Spurs completely dismatled Hull over the course of 90 minutes. Apart from a 15-minute spell in the first-half, Hull were never even remotely in it. Well done to everyone who e-mailed in with a 5-1 prediciton![LNB]90+3 GOAL - DEFOE! He gets the hat-trick right at the death! Lennon holds up play on the edge of the box before laying it off to Defoe, who absolutely smacks a right-footed shot into the roof of the net, giving Myhill no chance at all.[LNB]90+2 Bentley tries to make it five with a bit of a selfish effort from 25 yards, but Myhill gets down well to save.[LNB]90 Four minutes of stoppage time indicated as Hull have the ball deep in their opponents territory.[LNB]89 Sam, the happy Spurs fan in Florida, is apparently off down to the beach to have a Margarita. Alright for some.[LNB]87 The life has been sucked out of the game now as both sides realise the result is beyond doubt.[LNB]85 Both teams have now used their allotted substitutions as David Bentley replaces Modric. Defoe gets the armband.[LNB]84 Defoe almost in again but Gardner makes a last-ditch challenge to avert the danger.[LNB]82 Crouch gets up above Turner but powers his header into the arms of Myhill.[LNB]80 Peter Crouch is making an appearance for Spurs. Many Tottenham fans have e-mailed in prediciting a goal for him. Will he deliver? Keane makes way and hands the captain's armband to Modric.[LNB]78 GOAL - KEANE! Keane puts the game to bed with a terrific header after a rapid break and a fantastic cross from Lennon. 4-1 and three more points heading to White Hart Lane.[LNB]76 Hull seeing more of the ball now but can't penetrate the Spurs defence, which has looked fairly solid in the second-half.[LNB]74 Defoe again almost gets his hat-trick after a he beats Barmby in the box, but his shot is dragged wide of the near post.[LNB]72 A great move almost gives Defoe a hat-trick but Turner makes a good tackle just as he tries to turn in Lennon's cut-back.[LNB]71 Replays show that Bassong's hand was in the air and made contact with the ball. A genuine shout.[LNB]69 Summer signing Kamel Ghilas comes on for Boateng as Cudicini just manages to tip over an effort from Geovanni.[LNB]69 Geovanni goes for goal from the free-kick but it's gathered easily by Cudicini.[LNB]68 Hutton is now in the book after pulling back the advancing Hunt.[LNB]67 Another penalty appeal as the ball cannoned off a Spurs defender in the box but the appeals are turned down again.[LNB]65 Folan is shown the yellow card after a hefty tackle on Hutton.[LNB]64 Spurs break with pace but Hull scramble some defenders back and eventually clear.[LNB]63 Modric takes a pot-shot at goal but it's way over and ends up with the travelling Spurs fans behind the goal.[LNB]61 There's a shout for a penalty as Geovanni goes down in the area, but replays show that he was not touched and the referee was right to wave away the appeals.[LNB]59 Geovanni is caught offside as he tries to flick on a high ball.[LNB]57 Hull fan Martin is rueing his side's lack of home form and doubts whether his side can mount the comeback needed at the KC Stadium.[LNB]55 Keane turns Turner and looks to pick out Defoe in the box, but his pass is cut out and then the corner is cleared.[LNB]54 Keane makes a rash and frustrated challenge on Barmby after losing the ball, but he is only shown a yellow card.[LNB]53 Many Spurs fans mailing in with hesitant messages but all think their side will still find a way to win.[LNB]51 It's almost a fourth for Spurs as the ball is played into the box and George Boateng flicks it just wide of the post.[LNB]50 Daniel predicts a 5-3 win for Spurs while Kerian is the lone voice believing Hull will emerge with a point![LNB]49 Spurs start the second-half much the way as they began the first, by completely dominating possession.[LNB]47 Modric floats in a free-kick but the dangerous position comes to nothing.[LNB]46 Nick Barmby was brought on to replace Steven Mouyokolo at half-time.[LNB]46 Sam in Florida thinks that Harry Redknapp will not allow Spurs to blow this lead.[LNB]45 The second half is underway at the KC Stadium![LNB] Lee is already calling for the head of Phil Brown. Surely that's a bit premature?[LNB] Another Spurs fan on the 5-2 bandwagon, this time Ashley in Chippenham.[LNB] Eamon and James are both Spurs fans who think the lead could still slip away from them. But they both are confident enough to predict 4-2 and 5-2 wins respectively.[LNB] Karl, a Spurs fan living in Hull, hopes his dignity is protected with an away win. He also thinks 5-1 will be the eventual scoreline.[LNB] So all those e-mailing in with predictions of a comfortable win for Spurs will still be confident with their picks but for quite a while it did not look so comfortable at all. can Hull mount a comeback after the break? E-mail me your half-time predicitions t5-2 alex.williams@bskyb.com [LNB]45+2 The whistle goes for half-time and what a half it was! Tottenham looked to be in an unassailable lead after goals from Defoe and Palacios but Hunt's effort brought Hull right back into the game. An equaliser looked on the cards but Defoe struck again to restore the two-goal lead just before half-time.[LNB]45 Hull squander possession in a promising position after a foul throw.[LNB]44 GOAL - DEFOE! Defoe beats Turner with a delicate touch before striding into the box and smashing his shot beyond Myhill. The Spurs fans nerves are settled on the stroke of half-time.[LNB]41 A long overdue lull in the action as the two teams battle for possession in midfield.[LNB]39 Bernard Mendy crosses for Folan but his header is tame and Spurs race up the field, leading to Defoe scuffing a good chance by sending it wide of the post. End-to-end stuff![LNB]37 The home crowd really starting to get behind their team now and Spurs are definitely beginning to feel the pressure.[LNB]36 Folan has the ball in the back of the net but referee Chris Foy decides that the big striker had fouled Sebastien Bassong in the run-up to the goal. Seemed pretty harsh to me.[LNB]34 There is a stoppage in play as Geovanni is down after a collision with Hutton. They will both be able to continue.[LNB]31 Hunt in a dangerous position in the box again but is forced to shoot with his right foot under pressure from Hutton and it's an easy stop for Cudicini.[LNB]30 Hunt runs at the Spurs defence but he tries to dink a ball in to Folan and overhits it.[LNB]28 There's a massive claim for handball as Hutton breaks into the box and pulls the ball back. Hard decision to make but Anthony Gardner did have his right arm up.[LNB]27 Well, an exciting start at the KC Stadium! Spurs were shifting into cruise control but all of a sudden the home side are right back in it.[LNB]25 GOAL - HUNT! The Irishman floats a ball in and it bounces past Cudicini and into the net. There will be some debate whether someone got a touch in the box but for now Hunt is claiming his second in two games.[LNB]22 Hunt creates a chance with a great first touch but his shot loops wide of Cudicini's post.[LNB]21 Both sides have made changes now as Geovanni has been brought on to replace Daniel Cousin. Radical measures from Brown, although Cousin could have picked up an injury.[LNB]20 Hull try and fashion a chance with Seyi Olofinjana but his ball towards Stephen hunt is easily cut out by Alan Hutton.[LNB]19 Modric curls a shot in but it is straight at Myhill.[LNB]18 Hull are being carved up at will by the Tottenham attack, another dangerous break is barely cleared as Phil Brown helplessly looks on.[LNB]16 Gomes is down injured at the other end after an awkward landing and, unfortunately, has to be brought off. Carlo Cudicini is his replacement.[LNB]14 GOAL - PALACIOS! Keane is given space on the edge of the area and feeds the ball in to the Honduran winger who rockets a left-foot shot into the back of the net. 2-0.[LNB]13 Spurs surge forward again but Defoe's shot is blocked this time and the ball is scrambled clear.[LNB]11 Hull are all at sea and need to gather themselves quickly if they want anything from this match.[LNB]9 GOAL - DEFOE! The England striker receives a pass from Tom Huddlestone and tees it up on his left foot before burying the ball in the bottom corner. Deserved lead for Spurs.[LNB]9 Defoe shows some neat footwork to break into the box but he cannot get a shot off.[LNB]7 Hull have their best attacking chance so far as they are awarded a corner that is headed across goal by Michael Turner but Huerelho Gomes gathers cleanly.[LNB]6 Defoe tries a delicate little chip but it just goes over Boaz Myhill's bar and the score remains goalless.[LNB]5 Hull finally get the ball and Cousin creates some space but cannot get past Bassong and it's cleared.[LNB]4 Andrew in Washington also predicts an easy Spurs win. The early play would certainly indicate that the visitors will be seeing a lot more of the ball than Hull in this match.[LNB]2 Spurs having all the early possession and are calmly knocking it along the back-line.[LNB]1 The ball is in the net but it won't count as Aaron Lennon was caught offside before he swung a ball across the box that was prodded in by Keane.[LNB]0 Kick-off! Spurs get things started at the KC Stadium.[LNB] The match is moments from getting underway.[LNB] Nick is also a Spurs fan in confident mood and predicts a three or four-goal win for the visitors.[LNB] Spurs fans Stuart and Neil both realise that tonight's game will be a big test against tricky opposition, while James has no such worries, and predicts a 5-1 thumping for the visitors, including a Keane hat-trick.[LNB] John Potter ponders who will be the first choice strike pairing for Spurs this season. Redknapp went for Defoe and Keane on Sunday and does not change it for tonight. Crouch did not see much action with his new club in pre-season but could well break into the starting line-up the current two do not start getting their name on the scoresheet regularly.[LNB] Hull fan Steven sends in this: "I think for City tonight will depend on what formation Browny plays. At home he needs to play 4-4-2 if he goes for a 4-5-1 like against Chelsea it could be a very long night for the City fans and players." It looks to be a 4-4-2 set-up for Hull, with Daniel Cousin and Caleb Folan playing together up-front.[LNB] Kick-off is roughly 15 minutes away and the atmosphere is starting to build at the KC Stadium. Expectation will inevitably be high amongst the Hull fans ahead of the first home game of the campaign.[LNB] SkyBet have the visitors as 10/11 favourites for this clash, with hosts Hull a 3/1 shot. Are those good odds considering the Tigers' encouraging display against Chelsea? A draw is 12/5.[LNB] So Spurs produced a brilliant home display to defeat title hopefuls Liverpool on Sunday while Hull were possibly a little unlucky not to come away from their opening-day trip to Stamford Bridge with a point. Can they produce a win in their first home game of the new season or will Spurs maintain a perfect start?
