Hobbs misses out for Tigers

Hull will be without Jack Hobbs as Middlesbrough visit the KC Stadium.

The defender is sidelined for two to three weeks after suffering ankle ligament damage against Watford on Tuesday.

David Meyler continues to be absent as he completes his two-match ban but fellow midfielder Stephen Quinn made his return from a knee problem as a second-half substitute in midweek and is pushing for a return to the starting XI.

Striker Matty Fryatt is available after returning to full training following an Achilles problem that had kept him sidelined since August.

But forward Sone Aluko (tendon) and defender Paul McShane (ankle) remain sidelined for the Tigers.

Hull, who are aiming to avoid a third successive home defeat, are seven points behind leaders Cardiff and a point clear of third-place Watford.

Striker Emmanuel Ledesma remains a doubt as fading Middlesbrough travel in search of three priceless points.

The goalless draw against Peterborough on Tuesday halted Boro's four-match losing streak but left Tony Mowbray's side six points adrift of the final play-off berth.

And Ledesma, who has missed the last three games, is still struggling with an ankle problem.

Midfielder Josh McEachran, on loan from Chelsea, returned to the starting line-up against Posh following an ankle injury and should keep his place against the high-flying Tigers.

Defender Stuart Parnaby, who has been suffering with a hamstring injury, may return but midfielder Julio Arca is out for the rest of the season due to a toe injury.
