Keeper dilemma for Bruce

Hull's new loan signing David Stockdale could make his debut in the home clash with Burnley.

Stockdale, unable to force his way past Mark Schwarzer into the first team at Fulham, joined the Tigers on loan until January 2 this week and manager Steve Bruce must decide whether to rest his current number one Ben Amos.

"It's something I've got to look at because Ben Amos has done very well for us," said Bruce. "He's played 20-odd games on the trot and that's fantastic for him and he'll learn from the experiences he's had.

"He's made a couple of mistakes, but every player does and I want to stress that this isn't the end for Ben Amos, far from it."

Paul McShane has been struggling with a calf strain in recent weeks and remains doubtful, but fellow defenders Liam Rosenior (groin) and Alex Bruce (knee) are expected to shake off their injuries and retain their places in the back four.

Midfielder David Meyler, on loan from Sunderland, is pushing for his first start, but boss Bruce is not expected to make any further changes as his side chase a seventh win in nine league matches.

Burnley will be without the suspended Kieran Trippier for the trip.

The Clarets defender was dismissed in Saturday's 1-0 home defeat to Charlton having been adjudged to have kept out Chris Solly's goalbound effort with his hand.

The Lancashire club were unsuccessful in getting the one-match ban overturned, meaning Trippier will miss the Tigers' clash.

Manager Sean Dyche can welcome Ross Wallace back into his squad, after the winger missed the defeat to the Addicks whilst serving a one-match ban for receiving five yellow cards.

The Turf Moor boss will have to decide whether Ben Mee will be fit to dislodge Danny Lafferty from the side on his return from a foot injury.

Lafferty has filled in for the past two weeks, but having endured back-to-back defeats, Dyche may be looking to make a change.
