The former Liverpool defender is currently at Espanyol, but has found it hard to settle in Spain and is hankering after a return to the Premier League.[LNB]Espanyol would like to recoup as much of the £1.5m they paid for Finnan as possible, but Hull's £1m offer is the best so far.[LNB]According to the Mirror[LNB], Finnan could sign for Hull before the end of the week on a £25,000-a-week deal.[LNB]Tottenham were also once interested in signing Finnan, but only on loan, as manager Harry Redknapp was concerned about Finnan's injury record.[LNB]Hull manager Phil Brown is desperate to bring Finnan to the KC Stadium as he is finding it hard to agree a fee with Sunderland for loan-signing Paul McShane.[LNB]Hull have also made an undisclosed bid for Sunderland captain Dean Whitehead. [LNB]Assistant manager Brian Horton said: "We have identified probably four or five players and Dean's one of them. [LNB]"It's something we've been identifying in the past 18 months, players who can come in and strengthen the side." [LNB]Phil Brown's side could need reinforcements in midfield soon after George Boateng suffered suspected knee ligament damage during the second-half of the FA Cup win at Newcastle. [LNB]Hull midfielder Ryan France, 28, has rejected a loan move to Blackpool.[LNB]
