Hull Manager Steve Bruce remains positive after goalless draw with Blackpool

Hull manager Steve Bruce reflected on the positives after his side's scrappy goalless draw on a difficult pitch at Blackpool on New Year's Day.

The Tigers had a couple of chances to win it, but goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic pulled off a fine save to deny Blackpool winger Thomas Ince in the closing stages and Bruce was delighted with a third successive clean sheet and eight points from a possible 12 over the Christmas period.

"Games like the one on Tuesday are where you need that bit of resilience," Bruce told the club's official website.

"It made for an awful afternoon and to all the supporters that made the trip across to watch us, we say thank you very much.

"I'm sure they will have been delighted with the team's resilience, but they didn't get to see any of the flowing football that has made us the team that we are.

"It's a very good point for us and you've got to take that away from home. It's another clean sheet for us. Sometimes you have to work on your defensive shape and we've done that."
