Hull deny financial problems

Hull have dismissed a report suggesting they could be facing financial difficulties. It has been highlighted that City are still to submit their accounts for 2008 along with three other companies connected to the club or the KC Stadium. But chairman Paul Duffen was quoted earlier this month saying "this a technical point relating to a change of auditing standards" and the club say that remains the case. A statement from City this evening claimed the latest report was "poorly researched" and contained a "number of inaccuracies". It added: "With regard to the financial results of the football club, the widely respected Deloitte Annual Review of Football Finance published the figures for the year ending July 31, 2008 in their report of June 2009. "It showed a pre-tax loss of circa £10million as the result of investment in playing squad wages and the payment of promotion bonuses thanks to the most successful season in the club's history. The comparable numbers for the financial year ending July 31, 2009 show a pre-tax profit of circa £2million."
