The Premier League club have confirmed the procedure will take place at 6pm and the results are expected to be announced on Tuesday.

Blow: Jimmy Bullard had to be carried off at Villa Park

Bullard, the Premier League's player of the month for November, landed awkwardly after a challenge in Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Aston Villa and limped out of the action.

Club record signing Bullard, 31, left the field at Villa Park with tears in his eyes but the positive news on Monday was that there was no swelling around the joint.

Injury: Bullard will have a scan

The injury was incurred in just his fifth appearance since returning from an eight-month lay off following surgery on his right knee.

He marked his full Hull debut with a starring role in the 2-1 win over Stoke and then scored in draws with West Ham and Manchester City, the latter met with his choreographed Eastlands rant celebration.
