Match Preview

Hull City host Sunderland this Saturday almost certain that only a win will be enough to give them a chance of survival in the Premier League this season.

The Tigers' recent form though suggests that this may be difficult, having lost eight of their last 10 league games, with only one goal scored in their last three.

For their part, the Black Cats are on a decent run, picking up four wins in eight to ensure their permanence in the competition for 2010/11, although on the road they remain without a win since the first match of the season against Bolton.

Darren Bent will be seen as Sunderland's main goal threat, having netted half of his side's 46 Premier League goals this season, although Hull fans will be more than wary of the danger posed by Fraizer Campbell.

The forward, instrumental for Hull whilst on loan at the KC Stadium in their promotion-winning 2007/08 campaign, has now hit four goals in eight Premier League appearances, having failed to find the net in his first 20 with the Black Cats.

Following the 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Wednesday night, Tigers boss Iain Dowie is under no illusions as to the task that now faces his players, telling local press: "Saturday is now a must-win for us, simple as that.

"We can't dress it up any other way, we've got to win the game. We can only take care of our business."

City will be without striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink following his clash of heads with Richard Dunne in the game against Villa, adding to a long list of injuries.

Other absentees include Richrd Garcia, Kamil Zayatte and Ian Ashbee, along with Stephen Hunt (foot), though Anthony Gardner (ankle) could return.
