Hull City sack manager Phil Brown

Hull chairman Adam Pearson said in the statement that Brown had been "relieved of his managerial duties" and put "on gardening leave with immediate effect" with the club languishing in the Premier League relegation zone. [LNB]Pearson, who runs the club for owner Russell Bartlett, has placed Brown's No 2 Brian Horton in charge following Brown's sacking which brought to an end an a four-year spell at the KC Stadium which saw top-flight football come to Hull for the first time in its history. Pearson announced the shock move in a statement issued to the club website just before 11am today.
