Hull City biding their time over £12 million record deal for Real Madrid's Alvaro Negredo

"They don't need to lose the connection with Alvaro, they see him as a Galactico going forward.[LNB]"It's a complex deal but on the same note, we need to make sure it's the right deal for us as well.[LNB]"I have to cover all eventualities and it's those details that mean there's a lot of negotiating, but we're getting closer."[LNB]Hull manager Phil Brown is worried that the club's efforts to sign Negreda will be scuppered at the 11th hour.[LNB]"We're in that horrible position where we're talking about a player but he's not ours," said Brown. "I'm very mindful of that but with everyone knowing about it, the chances become less and less.[LNB]"It's alerted everyone's attention that he's available, that we're talking, and that we're that far down the line for a deal.[LNB]"It's a deal that's stretched us as far as we can go but someone else could walk in.[LNB]"There's five or six other clubs interested and I wouldn't be bothered about him going to another club in Europe. "If that's the way Spain do their business then so be it, but if he went to another English club it would hurt."[LNB][LNB]
