Hull boss Brown backing Cousin to claw the Tigers out of trouble

Hull City boss Phil Brown is tipping Daniel Cousin to lead the Tigers away from relegation danger. City have scored just once in four Premier League games since Cousin was laid low with a back injury. The 32-year-old striker has been dogged by the problem for more than a month, but returned to the bench at Sunderland on Saturday. Even though Cousin has not scored from open play since January, the Gabon international has managed five goals this season and has a full week of training under his belt already. And Brown is ready to start him against Liverpool on Saturday. 'I asked Daniel the question on Saturday morning to see if he could maybe play 10 or 15 minutes off the bench but starting him wasn't an option. 'He trained yesterday and hopefully he will train all week to play his part in the most important five games of the season. 'Fingers crossed, he will be able to start against Liverpool if called upon.'
