Horton eyes FA Cup boost

Hull City assistant manager Brian Horton is hoping a good result in their FA Cup fifth round replay with Sheffield United can turn their season around.[LNB] The Tigers have won just once in 17 league games, a run of form that has seen them tumble from fourth in the table to 13th, six points from the relegation places.[LNB]Monday's defeat at home to fellow strugglers Tottenham did little to raise the mood around the KC Stadium at present but Horton insists there is no negativity amongst the camp.[LNB]Manager Phil Brown is expected to make changes from the side which lost to Spurs for Thursday's cup tie with an eye on another crucial home clash with Blackburn on Sunday.[LNB]"If I was a footballer and I was out tomorrow night, I'd be aggrieved," Horton admitted.[LNB]"I'd want to play. I wouldn't even be thinking about playing Blackburn, I'd want to be out there in front of a packed house playing in a cup tie.[LNB]"This is a massive game for the football club, the chance to get into the quarter-finals for the fans, players, staff, board. It's been 38 years, that tell its own story.[LNB]"And it's massive because it is the next game. The next game is always important to players.[LNB]"Any game you are involved in as a player, manager, coach, you want to win. There is plenty of recovery time before Blackburn."[LNB]RefeshingHorton's attitude towards the FA Cup is refreshing given that the Tigers opponents on Sunday made 11 changes to their starting line-up for the 1-0 defeat to Coventry on Tuesday from the side that started their weekend league game at Manchester United.[LNB]The former Manchester City boss also believed that if his side play the way they did against Spurs they would have no problem booking their place in the quarter-finals.[LNB]"If we play as well as we did on Monday night, we are well capable of beating Sheffield United," he added.[LNB]"That was a good performance. They gave us everything they'd got but we didn't get the breaks.[LNB]"Whoever goes in and does that again, we'll get the breaks eventually. We are capable.[LNB]"Tottenham, how much money did their team cost, and were they much better than us? I don't think so.[LNB]"I think they were quite fortunate to walk away with the three points, but it is gone now. We have to put that one behind us.[LNB]"Inexperience cost us but we should be the more experienced tomorrow night because we are the so-called Premier League team."[LNB]
