Harper in Hull frame

James Harper could take his long-awaited place in Hull's squad for the home game with Portsmouth. Harper, a free summer signing from Sheffield United, has yet to make his first appearance for the Tigers due to a broken foot sustained in pre-season training. Hull are expected to be without key man Jimmy Bullard again. The former Wigan and Fulham midfielder is still struggling to recover full fitness following his latest knee injury, which has forced him to miss the last two matches. Goalkeeper Matt Duke is expected to continue, with Vito Mannone, drafted in on loan in time to make the squad for the midweek home defeat to Sheffield United, again on the bench. Craig Fagan is still struggling with a groin injury as the Tigers chase their first win in five league matches.
