Hamann eyes Munich return

Reported Hull City target Dietmar Hamann has confirmed his interest in a possible move to 1860 Munich following his release from Manchester City. The experienced midfielder is on the lookout for a new club having left Eastlands upon the expiry of his contract. Tigers boss Phil Brown is known to be an admirer and is thought to be readying an offer for the one-time Liverpool favourite, but it would appear a move back to Germany, with Bundesliga 2 side 1860, is his preferred option. "I am thinking about playing on for two more years," he told Munich-based publication Abendzeitung. "I feel I still have enough fitness for doing so. I could imagine playing for 1860 Munich, of course." Reports had suggested Hamann could move to Austrian outfit ASK Linz, who are managed by his old brother Matthias, but this idea has now been played down. Matthias Hamann told Austrian newspaper Sportwoche: "Dietmar is too expensive for us, we are not able to purchase him. "The deal in football is that you are always going to be paid for your performances in the past. "And Didi has impressed in those recent 15 years in the business. So we do not have any chance."
