Hull's new loan signing Anthony Gerrard said he jumped at the chance of playing regular first-team football at the KC Stadium.[LNB] Gerrard, a regular for Cardiff last season, has made only two Carling Cup appearances for Dave Jones' side this time around.[LNB]Gerrard told Hull's official club website: "I'm only 24 and I don't just want to sit and rot on the bench. I need to be out playing football and I think the manager understood that. That's why he gave me the opportunity to come to this fantastic club.[LNB]"Hopefully I'll have the chance to play regular football here and through that, I want to help Hull City progress and have a good season.[LNB]"We've got the squad to do that, it's just a case of everything gelling together and kicking on. There's a good mix of young and experienced players, which is what you need and I think that bodes well for the season.[LNB]"I finished training at two and got a phone call to say that Hull City had enquired about taking me on loan. I said 'no problem' because obviously I want to be playing football and hopefully I will get that chance here."[LNB]
