Anthony Gerrard has urged Hull to "heap more misery" on Middlesbrough next weekend and collect three more points to maintain their climb up the npower Championship table.
The Tigers have secured back-to-back wins since holding Leeds to a draw at Elland Road earlier this month and Gerrard, on loan from Cardiff, is looking higher up the table.
Gerrard, who says he has yet to produce his best form for Hull, said: "It's become really tight between the middle and the bottom of the table and we're now only six points away from the play-offs.
"Middlesbrough aren't having the best time of it lately, so it's important we go there looking to heap more misery on them.
"We need to take the opportunity to grab the three points while they remain in the relegation positions.
"Winning always breeds confidence. The draw against Leeds and the back-to-back wins have put us in good stead for next weekend's game."
