Hull City's Brazilian star Geovanni is set to sign a a new contract at the KC Stadium. Tigers boss Phil Brown has held talks with the former Manchester City midfielder to secure him to the club for three more years. Brown says the 29-year-old, who was outstanding in the first months of his move to East Yorkshire as Hull made a stunning start to last season, has indicated he wants to stay with the club. Geovanni, who had brief spells with Barcelona and Benfica, has attracted interest from Spain, Portugal and Greece over the summer, but will be heartened by City's win over Bolton on Saturday in which he made his first start. He was certainly back to his inspirational best and displayed all the talents Brown will need as he looks to build on his side's first season survival. Brown said: 'I have had many, many conversations with Geovanni. 'I'm at advanced stages with Geo and he's made reference to wanting to stay at Hull and in England, he's got nothing but positives to say about the club. 'He can sulk but these players can take things personally at times when it's nothing personal. I understand the deal is that you're going to have spats with your players if you're passionate about your job and this club. 'That's probably a sign that they're passionate as well so I don't have a problem with it.'
