Gary Megson and Kevin Davies determined to get Bolton fans on side

Bolton boss Gary Megson and his captain Kevin Davies have vowed to fight the club's boo-boys. The Trotters have lost their opening two Barclays Premier League games 1-0 and, shortly after falling behind at Hull on Saturday, travelling fans turned on the Bolton manager, demanding he quit the club. Megson has faced criticism from the day he took over and he looked beleaguered by this latest attack, just two games into Bolton's season. But the former West Brom boss has said he will continue to battle on and try to win over his critics. Megson said: 'The players have been talking about it in the dressing room and we have to deal with it. It's new to quite a few of them and it's not new to quite a lot of us. We've dealt with it before and we'll deal with it again. 'We circle the wagons and the spirit, not just in the dressing room or the football side of the club, but the whole gamut of Bolton Wanderers is very, very good. We sometimes have problems that we have to cope with but cope with them we will.' Captain Davies said the players were aware of the jeering which followed shortly after Hull's £2million striker Kamel Ghilas put the Tigers in front. Veteran frontman Davies, who missed his side's best chances at the KC Stadium along with strike partner Johan Elmander, said the squad were determined to get the fans back on side. 'We hear it and it doesn't help but after two games we have got no points, so you have got to expect it. 'We have been in this situation before. We are where we are but I think we all need to be pulling in the same direction to get us out of it. 'There is a cup game in midweek that could give us a lift, and then a home game against Liverpool. But maybe that's the kind of game we need right now. 'he fans need a boost and so do we. A result like that could really help us out.'
