Hull defender Anthony Gardner is expecting to be given a tough workout by his former club Tottenham at the KC Stadium on Wednesday. Gardner, who won a solitary England cap five years ago, is looking to re-establish himself in the Premier League after an injury-ravaged first season at Hull. The 27-year-old joined the Tigers in a £2.5million move from Spurs last summer but made only eight appearances due to thigh and back problems. He returned to the side in Saturday's season-opening defeat at Chelsea and is set to continue against Spurs, who impressed in beating one of the title favourites, Liverpool, on Sunday. Gardner said: "They look a different team by the looks of the weekend, they look ready to roll. They have always been a strong side, they've just maybe underachieved a little. "They have strength in depth now in all positions and that bodes well for them. But I think we're ready, we know what they're all about. "We're at home and it's down to us to take it to them and see if they can handle the pressure we put them under."
