Duffen sure of new faces

Hull chairman Paul Duffen remains confident the Tigers will yet succeed in the transfer market after a summer of frustration at the KC Stadium. Bids for Fraizer Campbell, Marc-Antoine Fortune and Bobby Zamora - in addition to an audacious pitch for Michael Owen - failed to bear fruit, and Hull remain without any summer arrivals in their ranks with the start of the new Barclays Premier League season less than a fortnight away. Only former Boulogne defender Steven Mouyokolo has been added to manager Phil Brown's squad since the end of last season, although that deal was struck back in January. Nevertheless, Duffen believes the transfer merry-go-round could yet crank into life for his club, telling the Yorkshire Post: "It has been frustrating because we wanted to make the signings as early as possible. "Unfortunately, it just hasn't happened but I am certain we will be able to rectify that. We are not alone in this respect with it looking like being very similar to last season when a huge proportion of the summer deals were done in the final five or six days of the window."
